Jos esimerkiksi halutaan poistaa paketti &lt;tt&gt;[[xchat]]&lt;/tt&gt; ja asentaa paketti &lt;tt&gt;[[irssi]]&lt;/tt&gt;, merkitään asennettavat paketit +-merkillä ja poistettavat miinuksella (-):<br /> zypper install irssi -xchat<br /> Huomaa, että jos lueteltavista paketeista ensimmäinen on poistettava (eli sen edessä on miinusmerkki), on ennen paketteja laitettava kaksi miinusmerkkiä (--).
